We are proud to be a locally owned pet business in your community. We are much more then just another store, and hope that you’ll join us in our effort to help give back to our wonderful community. We do this in many ways, and we focus on pet related causes that we believe help local pets and pet people. We could only do this with the help of all of our wonderful customers, so Thank YOU!

Pet food drives (where we host the drive and match donations made by our wonderful customers), supporting our local animal shelters and rescues with events and advertising, working with elementary schools on pet related fund raisers, gathering used items such as crates and donating to local shelters, and much more. Just a few examples of how Appalachian Tails has provided support in recent months! And we are always looking for new, fun ways to show support…so feel free if you have any ideas! One great commitment we’ve made more recently is donating cash generated through the sale of our Appalachian Tails t-shirts, sweatshirts and bumper stickers.

We donate the money directly to the Glastonbury Animal Shelter. We do this at regular intervals throughout the year, and have been told that the money is wonderful because it can be used as best needed (as opposed to a product that may or may not be needed at the time). For every Appalachian Tails T-shirt, Hooded Sweatshirt, or bumper sticker that is purchased, we donate a portion directly to the animal shelter. This is exciting for us, and our customers love it too as these products are cool! And best of all, we are all benefiting the animals that need our support.
